Energy performance certificates

What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is an assessment of your home’s energy efficiency. This has been introduced into the UK to enable us to comply with the European Union Energy Performance Buildings directive. All building constructed, sold, or rented must have an energy assessment.

Energy Performance CertificateThe EPC is an informative document providing information about the cost of Heating, Lighting, and Hot water for an average family residing in the property, and recommendations on how to improve the property ratings, and the potential savings an average household could make when implementing the recommended changes. To create an EPC our dedicated energy assessor will visit your home and record details about the aspects of the property that affect its energy efficiency (such as size of the property, construction, roof insulation, heating type etc.

The results of the survey are fed into a software package that calculates your home's energy rating (how efficient your home is) and your home’s environmental impact (how much CO2 your home produces). Both are shown on the EPC in a recognised format (similar to the energy performance ratings on kitchen appliances)
